Circulation/Technical Services Assistant
(Part-Time, 24 hours per week)

This part-time position includes day, evening, and weekend hours in the Circulation/Technical Services Department. One evening a week and a monthly weekend rotation (Saturday and Sunday) as well as participation in library special events is required. The regular schedule is: Monday 1-9 p.m., Wednesday 8-4:30 p.m., and Friday 8-5 p.m.

Primary responsibilities include working at our busy Circulation Desk and assisting the acquisitions team with ordering, receiving, and invoicing materials via EDI in the acquisitions module of SIRSI Dynix Workflows. Experience with SIRSI Workflows Acquisitions is required. Additional duties may be assigned within the Circulation or Technical Services Department.

Ideal candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a positive attitude, dedication to superior customer service, and the ability to work efficiently individually and as part of a team. Knowledge of SIRSI Dynix software and technology typically used in public libraries is required and experience with Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.

This position will be responsible for the Circulation and Technical Services Department in the absence of the department and assistant department heads; previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent with the completion of an LTA certification or bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Two years related Circulation or Technical Services experience in a comparable business, organization, or library is required.

This position reports to the Circulation and Technical Services Department Head and starts at $15.18/hour plus benefits.
