TAX FORM UPDATES: All federal and state forms and instructions have arrived.

Deadline: For most taxpayers, the deadline to file their personal federal tax return, pay any tax owed, or request an extension to file is Monday, April 15, 2024.


Federal Taxes

The library has the following federal forms:
- Form 1040
- 1040 Instructions

Many people will only need to file Form 1040 and no schedules. If your return is more complicated (for example you claim certain deductions or credits, or owe additional taxes) you will need to complete one or more of the Form 1040 Schedules. See the instructions for more information.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LIBRARY WILL ONLY HAVE THE FORM 1040 AND INSTRUCTIONS. We will not be receiving any other federal forms.

APPOINTMENT REQUIRED
Dates Available: February 9 - April 12 (Fridays)

Available for low and moderate income Bloomingdale Township residents, especially those 50 and older. Assistance is free, but an appointment is mandatory. To schedule an appointment, choose one of the following options:

- In-Person: For Bloomingdale Township Seniors, stop by the Township Senior Center to schedule your appointment starting at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 18; Friday, January 19; Monday, January 22; or Tuesday, January 23. During these four days, phone calls will not be permitted for scheduling an appointment. Proof of residency is required.
- Phone: Starting Wednesday, January 24, call (630) 529-7794 to schedule an appointment (if available) for Bloomingdale Township residents. Non-residents can call to schedule appointments (if available) starting Monday, January 29.

Free tax preparation services are available on Saturdays and select weekdays by appointment February 10 through April 13, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (No appointments on Saturday, March 30.) Schedule an in-person appointment at the College of DuPage (Glen Ellyn).

Provides free income tax counseling for households with annual incomes up to $64,000 and individuals with annual incomes up to $32,000. Check the website for full eligibility requirements, locations, and what to bring.
