The Friends of the Library invite you to purchase gift cards for Texas Roadhouse now thru May 5, 2026 through this link. The Friends will receive 10% of each gift card purchase! Gift cards are digital and will be emailed to you by May 12, 2026. Click here for the detailed flyer about the gift card purchases.
When you go to Texas Road House on May 13 (dine in or carry out), bring/show/mention the flyer here and Texas Road House will donate 10% in sales to the Friends of the Library! You can even use the gift cards you purchased in the April fundraiser! All donations support Bloomingdale Public Library programs and materials. We hope you will participate in this fun dining fundraiser! And thank you to Texas Road House for their support!
Join us for our Spring Book Sale!
Saturday, April 25, 2026 | 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Stop by and browse our materials for all ages; we'll have used and donated library books, DVDs, CDs, puzzles, and more - plus yummy baked goods! A bag of books - we'll provide the bag - is $10. DVDs/Blu-rays are $1 each. Some exceptions apply, these items will be priced individually or designated by signage. Click here for the full flyer. Questions? Who are the Friends?
The Friends of Bloomingdale Public Library was formed in 1974 with the purpose of building a library for the Bloomingdale community, which opened June 9, 1975. We are a non-profit organization that supports the library by raising funds to support programs and provide materials.
What do we do?
We plan fun fundraising events which benefit our library and our community. Our largest fundraisers are our Spring and Fall Book Sales and the ongoing Perpetual Book Sale Wall at the library. All sales sell both withdrawn and donated materials. Books, DVDs, music, and more may be donated to the library at any time; please see the donation guidelines for more details on what we accept.
The Perpetual Book Sale Wall is just to the right as you walk in to the library. It is stocked weekly, so the selection is always changing. Pricing as of 2026 is as follows:
- Hardcover Books - $2
- Children's Books - 25¢
- Everything Else - $1
We accept cash and Zelle (bplfriends) for all of our book sales.
Our 2026 Annual Spring/Fall Book Sales will be Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, November 14. We hope to see you here!
Monetary donations can be made the following ways:
- at Friends events - cash, check, or Zelle (bplfriends)
- at the library - drop cash or check into the lock box on the Perpetual Book Sale wall
- credit/debit donations - click the button below
When & where do we meet?
Meetings are held four times a year. Members who are unable to attend meetings, but wish to help out, may donate a few hours of time to help with our various activities.
Meetings dates for 2026 (Meeting time is 6:30-7:30 p.m., programming 7:30-8:30 p.m.):
- January 28, 2026 - Meeting Room C - after program: make Valentines for Vets
- April 22, 2026 - Meeting Room C - after program: Social Hour
- July 22, 2026 - Meeting Room C - after program: to be announced
- October 28, 2026 - Meeting Room C - after program: On The Same Page book discussion
