ON THE SAME PAGE: DIY Upcycled Metal Art

Learn how sculptors make welded art out of industrial salvage and architectural found objects. Then, using ceramic magnets, gears, sanded scrap metal, cotter pins, bolts, nuts and assorted steel shapes, assemble a steam punk style sculpture of your own!  Flower, animal or cool design? Make a sculpture for your garden, or really anywhere in your space.

Let your imagination decide…

We will talk about design concepts such as positive and negative space, working with permanent components (buildings, trees, sidewalks) and organic changing ones (flowers, color, shapes and blooming stages of plants) when mapping out a new garden space. Making a monochromatic sculpture from fixed objects teaches them how to play with design, line, pattern, etc.

Purpose? Play, experiment and build using rare upcycled metal components. Tap into creative joy!

You will be able to take your creation kit home with you at the end of this workshop, including ideas and instructions on how to treat it for your garden or any space. Space is limited! Registration is mandatory.

Note: Participants with pace makers or other embedded medical devices should use caution when working with ceramic magnets.
