Storytimes

Preschoolers of all ages can join us for a storytime. The Youth Services department provides age-appropriate interactive fun with stories, music, sign language, and more. Each storytime runs for six weeks. Winter Storytimes will return March 2020. ALL PROGRAMMING IS POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL 6.




Readers and Eaters (Grades K-2) *R*

Happy Books, Happy Cooks (Ages 3-5) *R*

Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-5, Drop-In Limited)

Registration is not required. Limited to the first 20 children to arrive.


Toddler Storytime (2-3 years with caregiver, Drop-In Limited)

Baby Tales (0-24 months with caregiver, Drop-In)

March registration for Bloomingdale Library cardholders is open.
February and March registration for Bloomingdale Library cardholders begins Monday, January 21.
Non-residents may register one week before each program begins.

1000 Books before Kindergarten

This is an ongoing program.
Registration is required.

Be on the lookout for our new exciting program 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. This new reading program encourages all Bloomingdale families and caregivers with young children before they enter Kindergarten. Studies have shown that families that start reading aloud to their children from birth strengthen language and vocabulary skills. Ask at the Youth Services’ Desk for more information. Or you can sign up right here.


Storytime, Milk, and Cookies at Panera (Drop-In, All Ages)

Monday, April 13
9:30–10:15 a.m.

Registration is not required.

Enjoy a special storytime and nibble on some yummy cookies and milk from Panera!

Baby, Let’s Make Music (Drop-In) until age 2

Thursdays, April 16 and 30
10:30-11:00 a.m.

Registration is not required.

Join us for a parade of fun! We will explore the world of sound using an array of musical instruments.


STEM Club: Tech Time *R* (Grades 3-6)

Thursday, April 9
4:15-5:00 p.m.

Registration is required.

Libraries are more than books- they are a great place to learn technology too! Come get some hands-on time with tech at STEM club!


Sensory Time *R* (Ages 3-8 with caregiver)

Saturday, April 18
10:00- 10:45 a.m.

Registration is required.

This program is especially for children with autism, sensory processing and other special needs. We will engage the senses through music, stories, motor activities and sensory stations. Please email us at bdys@mybpl.org about your child’s special needs so we can serve them better. Siblings welcomed.
