Experience gaming on our big screen! Show off your skills in Guitar Hero and Rock Band, fight against friends in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, race in Mario Kart Wii, try out motion gaming with our Kinect, or groove to DDR. Bring your friends and enjoy free food! Registration not necessary, just stop on by! While you're here, be sure to check out the Library's collection of console video games, which includes games for Playstation 2, Playstation 3, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo GameCube, and Nintendo DS. A Yu-Gi-Oh! card tournament will be held at every first Teen Game Night of the month (the second Thursday). Tournaments are single duel, and no proxy cards are allowed during tournament play.

Learn easy ways to immediately transform your scores on the ACT Writing portion! ACT Trainer Jordan Catapano will teach specific writing techniques to compose an articulate, sophisticated essay in 30 minutes. This course will show students how to:
- Analyze and understand what a prompt is actually asking you to do
- Devise unique introductions that immediately grab attention
- Write a well-rounded argument that responds to a variety of perspectives
- Create dynamic examples that illustrate the main ideas
- Understand exactly what ACT graders look for and how to give them what they want
- And how to do this all and more within a 30-minute timed essay
Get prepped before the April and June test dates! The ACT Writing portion is required at Northwestern University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Harvard, Stanford, and many other top schools.

Third Saturday of the month
1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Your move! It’s time to duel! Calling all players of collectible games, ages 9 and up! Join us for open play, a Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament, and snacks! Feel free to bring in other games, including Bakugan, Magic: The Gathering, Pokémon, and other collectible card games. No registration required.

Are you a teen with great ideas for the library, but don’t know where to start? Wish the library had gaming tournaments or would purchase a popular new series? Then check out the library’s Teen Advisory Group! If you’re in 7th- 12th grade, you can earn volunteer hours through projects such as suggesting purchases or planning teen programs. To join the group, please fill out a sign-up form, available at the Reference Desk, the YA Spot, or online here. Please turn in completed forms to the Reference Desk. Snacks provided.

The VolunTEEN program at Bloomingdale Public Library is open to students in grades 7-12 that would like to gain work experience and earn community service hours while assisting the Youth Services Staff. Volunteers work 2-4 hours per month preparing craft materials, keeping the department tidy and helping with special projects. Teens learn punctuality, responsibility, and can earn volunteer hours that will count toward confirmation or honor society requirements. A minimum commitment of 6 volunteer hours is required.
