Local Scholarship Opportunities 2012
Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
The Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce will be offering scholarships to graduating seniors and post-secondary students for vocational, business, or two or four year colleges. Candidates must be a Bloomingdale resident or employee of a Bloomingdale Chamber member. Previous Chamber scholarship winners will not be considered. Applications will be available after Monday, February 13 at the Chamber office (108 W. Lake St.), Bloomingdale Public Library, or online at the Chamber's website. Bloomingdale Women's Club Scholarship
The Bloomingdale Women’s Club is pleased to announce the availability of one $1,000 scholarship in 2012. The scholarship is available to graduating seniors residing in the Village of Bloomingdale with a “C” average or better. The major criteria for awarding the scholarship will be evidence of community service and/or school involvement. Applications are available at the guidance counselors' offices at Lake Park, Glenbard North, and Addison Trail High School or online here. The deadline for the application is April 1. Bloomingdale Garden Club Scholarship
The Bloomingdale Garden Club wishes to encourage interest in and the advancement of horticulture related education by making a $500 scholarship available to 2012 graduating seniors from Addison Trail, Glenbard East, Glenbard North, Glenbard West and Lake Park High Schools and also to College of DuPage students who have graduated from any of these high schools. The scholarship is also open to past recipients.
To be considered, applicants must be planning to pursue a post-secondary degree/certification in horticulture or a horticulture-related field, including but not limited to agronomy, biology, botany, chemistry, conservation, earth science, ecology, environmental studies, forestry, landscape design, ornamental horticulture, plan genetics, plant physiology, plant & soil science for the 2012-13 academic year.

Lake Park High School Scholarships
Lake Park seniors are fortunate to have a variety of scholarships available which are designated especially for LP students. The Lake Park Educational Foundation, LP Booster Club, Lake Park Partners in Education (LPPE), and several other LP groups offer scholarships ranging from $300 - $1,500. Stop by the Career Center in the West Campus counseling office to learn more about these scholarships.
Parent Teacher Organization Scholarship
The Bloomingdale School District 13 Parent Teacher Organization is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for former District 13 students. Students interested in applying for scholarship money must complete the Scholarship Application. If you are a past student of both DuJardin and Erickson, you may apply only to one of those two schools. Please select the school most recently attended. If you attended one of the elementary schools and Westfield, you may apply to the elementary school as well as to Westfield.
Applications are available at the guidance counselors' offices at Lake Park and District 13 schools and online here. The deadline for the application is April 13. Winners will be selected by a committee evaluating the students' applications, grade point averages, introductory letters, and letters of recommendation. Winners will be notified in early May.
