The Library offers a selection of free federal individual income tax forms, instruction booklets, and Illinois tax forms during the tax season. If you cannot find the forms you need, please ask any of the librarians at the Reference Desk to help you. We can search online for the forms you need and print them for you. There is a 10 cent per page fee for printing tax forms from the federal and state web sites.

Federal tax forms are available online at the Internal Revenue Service’s homepage at www.irs.gov/formspubs. If you prefer to print your IRS tax forms at home, or if you are looking for a tax form the library does not receive, you can download and print your forms from this site. Electronic filing is also available on this site.

No appointments are necessary; however, if you have a complex issue, please contact the department ahead of time so they can be prepared to give you the help you may need.

The AARP Tax Aide Program for Seniors is available for Bloomingdale Township residents 60 years and older at the Senior Center (6N050 Rosedale Rd. in Bloomingdale). Appointments are available on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The program starts on Monday, February 6. There is no charge for this assistance, but an appointment is mandatory. You can make an appointment now by calling 630-529-7794.

The Center for Economic Progress Tax Assistance Program provides free income tax counseling for families with annual incomes less than $50,000 and individuals with annual incomes less than $25,000. In 2012, the tax sites will be open beginning January 21 or January 28. Please visit the website or call 312-630-0241 for locations, hours of operation, and more information.

The Ladder Up Tax Assistance Program provides free income tax counseling for families with annual incomes less than $45,000 and individuals with annual incomes less than $20,000. In 2012, most sites are open from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday mornings from January 21 to April 14, with all sites being closed on Saturday, March 17, 2012. Please note that not all sites are open every Saturday and some have different hours. Select sites are also open on certain weekdays.
