This drop-in conversation group is designed to give adult English-as-a-second language learners practice speaking English in an informal, relaxed atmosphere. Seniors' Game Day

Adults 55 and over are welcome to join us for an afternoon of games and refreshments. We'll have Wii Sports, trivia, board games, and fun! There is no registration necessary for this free program.Come alone or bring your friends!
Genealogy Club

Are you interested in networking with other genealogy buffs? Join the Genealogy Club! The Genealogy Club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month, except in November and December. New Teen Game Night added! Open Game Night is being replaced with a second Teen Game Night. A Yu-gi-Oh! card tournament will be held at every first Teen Game Night of the month (the second Thursday). Tournaments are single duel, and no proxy cards are allowed during tournament play.
Experience gaming on our big screen! Show off your skills in Guitar Hero and Rock Band, fight against friends in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, race in Mario Kart Wii, or groove to DDR. Bring your friends and enjoy free food! Registration not necessary, just stop on by! Celebrate Teen Tech Week @ the library! Make custom earbud holders for your iPod or MP3 player at our green tech craft night. Later in the week, check out Teen Game Night for head to head action in Smash Bros., Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and more. All week long, we’ll also be holding a Twitter contest with book and gift card prizes!

Open to Teens 7th – 12th grades
Enter the library’s weeklong Twitter contest for a chance to win books or gift cards! Every day, we’ll be giving away a teen book. On the final day of the contest, we’ll give away two grand prizes ($10 Barnes and Noble gift cards). Enter daily one of three ways:

3. Tweet about @mybplteens. You can make a purchase request, write a comment, talk about a book, or ask us a question.

Visit the librarians on the first Monday or Thursday of every month for a quick craft lesson. They'll supply the materials to get you started, and you can finish on your own.

Doodle Bugs (Children ages 2-3 and their caregivers)

This is a special art class just for toddlers and parents. Little fingers will experiment with painting, gluing, sticking and creating, while developing fine motor skills.
Diary of a Windy Kid (Grades 2-5)

Registration is required. Registration for Bloomingdale residents will begin on Monday, February 1. Registration for non-residents will begin on February 24.
Like to blog? Enjoy being creative? Combine your love of chatting and sharing with our recycled (you decorate) binders to create crazy journals containing whatever zooms into your brain- anything from stories to cartoons and more. Note: This is a 2-session program concluding March 10. Registration covers both dates.
Kids' Night Out Wednesdays: The Case of the Missing Chocolate Bars (Grades 3-6, parents and caregivers also welcome)

What happened to the chocolate bars? A good old-fashioned mystery needs to be solved... by YOU! Grown-ups are welcome for this edition of our fun K.N.O.W. program. Please indicate the number of adults and the the number of children when registering.
Library Capers: Graphic Novels (Grades 1-5)

Monthly Montage: Clay Sculptures(Grades 3-6)
Monday, March 29, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Registration is required. Registration for Bloomingdale residents will begin on Monday, February 1. Registration for non-residents will begin on March 22.
Use your hands and some clay to make your own sculpture. We will be using self-drying clay so no need to fire up your creation. You will be taking it home with you after the program.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover(Ages 4-7)
Monday, March 29, 4:15-5:00 p.m.
Registration is required. Registration for Bloomingdale residents will begin on Monday, February 1. Registration for non-residents will begin on March 22.
Bring your stuffed animal to the library for stories, songs and games, then tuck him in tight and let him sleep in the library. The next day you may pick him up and maybe even see what he did the night before. Be sure to bring an animal that can stay all night by himself!
Delicious Books- Strega Nona Pasta Painting(Grades 3-6)
Wednesday, March 31, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Registration is required. Registration for Bloomingdale residents will begin on Monday, February 1. Registration for non-residents will begin on March 24.
Who else wants to add pasta to a magic pot and then paint with it? We will be using pasta to make our creations, which will be based on the beloved character Strega Nona from the book by Tomie DePaola!
Third Saturday of the month, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
The Dueler's Guild is a group for players of Collectible Card Games (CCG's) to learn, play and socialize. Players ages nine and up are welcome. Dueler's Guild meets the third Saturday of the month from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Storytimes
Come on down to the library to attend one of our fun filled storytimes for children of all ages. Each program runs for six weeks. Storytimes will begin the week of March 8 and end the week of April 19. Registration begins on Feb. 1 for Bloomingdale Residents. Storytime registeration for non-residents will begin on March 1.
